So let's start from the beginning here. I originally wanted a dealer's table in Anime North because I was planning to have my t-shirts and other merchandise ready for the convention. Only problem was, when I got the invoice for the table, it said I needed a vendor's license. Ok I did not have one. So I was emailing the Dealer's Room manager for weeks trying to get some answers about whether it would still be ok for me to enter if I didn't have one. To make a long story short, I never received any responses. This kinda put me off from actually paying the invoice.
Finally, nearing the convention I thought that it was still worth a shot to pay the table and submit the payment since i would only need to earn a certain amount to pay off the table if I did go (I'm not really one to worry about whether I would make less than base amount since I've never gone under before). The only problem is I still was not getting any responses from the Dealer's room manager and I could not confirm whether I had the table or not since the cheque did not get cashed in. Usually with conventions, they cash the cheque to finalize the fact that you have the table. So I thought did not get the table.
Friday rolls along and in the evening I check my facebook to find one of my fans inquiring whether I was going to the convention. I said it was because I didn't have a table. The next morning I check my facebook inbox again to find a response message telling me that she saw PandaPad.Com listed as one of the dealers. Now this shocked me. I grabbed whatever leftover products I had from my previous convention trip and rushed out to Anime North to confirm what I had just read. Well, the message was confirmed when I inquired from a staff member. After this point I was frazzled because I did not have anything substantial to sell and I had spent a good amount of time running around back and forth trying to find the manager (despite the help of the staff members to assist me in this matter). I ended up just setting up what I did have (making me look like a fish out of water since the stuff I was selling was exactly what you would see in a normal artist alley table) and trying to make use of whatever time I had left on the Saturday to sell something.
Let's just say I wasn't really expecting much. I finally got into contact with the Dealer manager at the end of Saturday when she was making her rounds and I explained to her everything and how very disappointed I was about the whole ordeal. She apologized (and mentioned she did reply to my emails but they might have gone into my spam filter...) But we came to a good agreement about the table which was very accommodating. Let's just say I will definitely be going back to the Dealer's room in Anime North 2010 and will be prepared for it this time. So all in all I wasn't expecting to go and ended up going for a day and a half. So for all those who saw me there, now you know the reason
I'm exhausted so I'm off for now. Thanks to everyone for your constant support of my work and I will look forward to displaying more stuff for you to enjoy~

Events and Conventions
August 28-30 2009: Once again I will register for FanExpo held in the Toronto Convention Centre. I will be registering in artist alley (cause their vendor's space is quite expensive) and i will keep you posted on what is happening for that.
(pending): Something that is in the works will be an Art Show with my fellow artists in the StudioDYV group. Although the detailing has not be finalized yet, if the prep. work does go well, I will be posting up the details about this event (which means you can catch me earlier to grab some merchandise before FanExpo)
