Illustration for a Christmas card my mother wanted me to make so she could give it out this Christmas. In the design I tried to add reference to:
- The star that lead to Jesus
- Angels
- Gifts of the wise men gold, frankincense and myrrh (although the myrrh vessel is not visible in the image)
Sending out early Christmas wishes to everyone
Note: I have changed the text to that of the original card which my mother had chosen. There are two reasons why I will not take out the text and the type of text on this card.
1. This is a card that celebrates the birth of Christ. Anyone who is offended by that need not bother with this post. There are too many pieces that go online that are offensive in nature and to Christians yet their posts get rave reviews because of these factors. Yet to have something clean in nature but referencing to Christ seems to get disagreements. Unfortunately for those people, I don't really mind expressing my faith so please understand that my pieces are done to show the talent that God has given me.
(This is probably one of the reasons why I won't get any popularity points on DA )
2. There is quite a bit of blank space on the top of the piece which makes it look too plain if I take out the text completely. So if you didn't like the first text I've added the original text (although it covers the star). Consider this the full commission piece from my mother. I'm not changing it.
Waow, that is gorgeous . Definitely makes a great Christmas card. I really love the design of the clothes, and the coloring is soft and just...so pretty *0*. Wonderful job .
I know that you probably don't mean at all to be offensive, but you might not realize that putting Christian imagery on a card and saying things like the true "meaning" or "reason" for the season can be offensive to others who celebrate other Holidays in the season of Winter.
I don't celebrate Christmas but I hope you have a pleasant one.

Truly beautiful and wonderfully detailed and delicate. I like how you did the hair and the little embelishments you added like the holly in her hair.
I do, however, have one thing to point out. I believe it is more grammatically correct to say "May you be blessed with the true meaning of the season."
All in all though, I do love it. Happy Holidays!
